“The Journey of the Worn-Out”
Right now, I am frail,
One day, I will just walk away.
I’ve seen the earth meet the sky,
It’s that union I seek,
One day, I’ll set off in search of it.
There’s a stain on my garment, and it brings me shame,
It’s that very stain I wish to erase,
I’ll walk away to cleanse it.
I’ve been homeless for a long time,
In search of that very home,
I will journey to restore it.
Mad in the love of my beloved, I’ve lost my senses,
To express that love,
I will set off in pursuit.
I am deprived, my story is strange,
To share it at his holy abode,
I’ll make my way there.
I was poor, and my life was steeped in poverty,
To repay that debt,
I will journey to settle it.
Grateful for the pain and the world’s trials,
To erase that very pain,
I will walk away.
The thirst for union has lingered in my heart for so long,
To quench that thirst,
I will journey to fulfill it.
Right now, I am frail,
One day, I will just walk away.
