आज का वर्ग और बच्चे

क्यों शोर मचाते हो प्यारे
क्यों जोर गंवाते हो प्यारे।
क्या मिलता है यूं चिल्लाने से
क्या असर दिखाते हो हबुवाने से।
सोचो यदि ऐसा हो जाता
मम्मी या पापा आ जाते।
सुनते ये शोर शराबे को
गाली गलौज और ताने को।
कितना-कितना तुम पढ़ते हो
कैसे-कैसे तुम रहते हो।
क्या बीतेगी उन दोनों पर
क्या सोचेंगे क्यूं भेजा है।
क्यों शोर मचाते हो प्यारे
क्यों जोर गंवाते हो प्यारे।….1

क्या मिलता है इन प्यारों को
क्या देंगे हम इन अभागों को।
जाने क्यों ऐसा करते हैं
क्या मिलता है इन्हें करने से।
इन्हें कौन बताए क्या गुजरी है
इन्हें यहां तलक पहुंचाने में।
जो दे ना सके खुद अपने को
ये इन्हें मुहैया करवाया।
जो ले ना सके अपने खुद को
वो क्या देंगे कुछ दुजों को।
क्यों शोर मचाते हो प्यारे
क्यों जोर गंवाते हो प्यारे।….2

जो पहचान ना पाए खुद को
क्या पहचानेंगे औरों को।
ऐसे बच्चों से क्या लेना
हां ऐसे बच्चों को क्या देना।
जब देश पुकारेगा इनको
जब आन पे मरना होगा इनको।
तब खुदा ही जाने क्या होगा।
क्यों शोर मचाते हो प्यारे
क्यों जोर गंवाते हो प्यारे।।….3

जिस देश के बच्चे ऐसे हों
उसे देश की हालत क्या होगी।
जिस देश का आलम ऐसा हो
उसे देश का यारो क्या होगा।
जहां मरते हों सब अपने लिए
जहां चोरी करना पाप नहीं।
जहां पाप पुण्य में फर्क नहीं
जहां आवारा गर्दी में हर्ज नहीं।
जहां बच्चे सजते और संवरते हों
फैशन से होड़ लगाने को।
जहां प्यार का अर्थ व्यभिचार बना
जहां नैतिकता व्यापार बना।
ऐसे में इन युवाओं से
क्या लेना और क्या देना है।
क्यों शोर मचाते हो प्यारे
क्यों जोर गंवाते हो प्यारे।।..4

Today’s Classroom and Children

Why do you make noise, dear ones?
Why do you squander your strength, dear ones?
What do you gain by barking like this?
What impact do you intend by causing such commotion?
Think, what if it were to happen—
If your parents were to come!
And listen to this chaos,
This swearing and taunting!
How much do you study,
And how do you behave?
What would pass through their minds?
What would they think?
Why did they send you here?
Why do you make noise, dear ones?
Why do you lose your strength, dear ones?….1

What do these dear ones gain from this?
What can we give to these unfortunate ones?
Why do they behave like this?
What do they gain from such behavior?
Who will tell them what it takes,
To reach where they are now?
If they cannot provide for themselves,
It was made available to them.
If they cannot take for themselves,
What will they give to others?
Why do you make noise, dear ones?
Why do you lose your strength, dear ones?….2

If they cannot recognize themselves,
How will they recognize others?
What can be taken from such children,
And what can be given to them?
When the country calls upon them,
When they must die for honor,
Only God knows what will happen.

What will become of a country,
Where children are like this?
What will become of a nation,
Where the state is in such a state?
Where everyone lives for themselves,
Where stealing is not a sin,
Where there is no difference between sin and virtue,
Where wandering aimlessly is not a crime,
Where children dress up and adorn themselves,
Competing in fashion,
Where love means immorality,
Where morality has become a trade?
In such a scenario,
What can be taken,
Or given to these youths?
